Non ML Front Door Speaker replacement - poll/thoughts?
06 - lower front door woofers are blown out. I bought a pair of kicker speakers from crutchfield and am less than impressed with them. I'm returning them and am going to refoam the OEM speakers. I just wanted to see if anyone else has gone through this and if they think refoaming is the way to go, or if there is an aftermarket woofer that is worth going with over the OEM ones? I love music so audio quality and clarity with loudness is important to me.

Thanks
I have ML but I went with 6.5" Dayton Audio woofers. They sound great! I highly recommend Dayton Audio, just find the one that matches the ohms of the factory system. I'm not sure what ohms the non-ML system runs at. The ML system is 8 ohm which is home speaker stuff. Kinda dumb for car audio.
And I used Metra 82-8147 speaker adapters. So everything bolted right up.

Most car audio is 4ohm or less. One can add a 2ohm power film resistor to a straight 4ohm speaker, which should run just fine on the ML amp stuff. The thing to be careful of is, speakers that have passive xover attached, which can be problematic for amps that have built-in xover.
