Default OBD performance chip plug ins

HI , I am new here. Recently purchased a 2004 GX470 in very good condition. I love the truck, but am spending a lot of money on gas compared to my FJ Cruiser. Has anyone used any performance chip plug ins that promise up to 60 Hp gain and up to 6mpg savings ? If they do work, the cost would obviously be worth it in gas savings in a short period of time. Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

No idea if this works, but gains in MPG will be minimal. GX470 is no engine for good MPG's.
You might gain a few MPG's by having the injectors serviced.

6mpg gain? That's extremely unlikely, unless they're running the fuel mixture super lean, which causes it's own significant problems.

Grow to love your 14mpg. Embrace it.

Remember FJ is a V6 and the GX is a V8. Also it depends on the driving habits. My average on the display is 20.3 mpg. No driving above 65mph and rev below 2000rpm. Like chiph9 said, embrace it.

This makes a huge amount of difference. Taking the back roads to go see family instead of the interstate means 2-3 better mpg because the speed limit is lower and all the small towns.

I find that display to be, how do you say?, optimistic at best.
Just curious if you've ever calculated your mileage?
I very briefly owned a 2003 4Runner V8, the display read 20, I was averaging 16mpg. Not bad I thought. Since it's lighter than the GX it makes sense. Before the lift I was averaging about 14-15 in the GX. Haven't driven it enough to find out how much that's dropped.
To the OP, there's no magical cure or chip that will give you than much gains without first doing a lot of performance mods like headers, exhaust etc. Toyota ECUs are notoriously locked down so they don't make it easy to modify how they read.
