Default Cooling fan not spinning... Pics...

The one mounted in front of the condenser, this all started cause the A/C is blowing 50 degrees, fan was spinning but super slow like 15rpm... so I buy a new fan... went ahead and put it on and it still doesn't work so now I'm over my head looking for a reason..notice a couple things ...right next to the fan power plug I have a empty female plug? no idea where it goes...

Then I moved on to the relay box B and seems like a relay is missing...any opinions welcome.

Did the AC used to work in the time you've owned it, or are you trying to track down a previous owner's AC issues? Helps when suggesting where to start looking, relays shouldn't be missing if the AC worked last week for example.

I found this, it may not be specific to your issue, but it's a great resource to see where all the various components of the AC system are and how to access them: https://testing-public.carmd.com/Tsb...19/L-AC003-061

I can't find a link right now, but I think there's also an HVAC diagnostic menu you can access if you have a nav-equipped truck.

I can confirm the plug is unused on the GX470, it was used on other 120 platform trucks in other markets.

my A/C has always worked but it's weak blowing in the hi 40's, I cleaned the condenser and noticed the fan malfunctioning which will be a A/C problem. Thanks on the unused plug

Thanks seeing everthing helps, This unit came from S.Indiana so I'd expect that this extensive TSB was done, at least I hope so looks expensive...I have the duo frt/back HVAC but no NAV ..just basic GX470

That missing relay in relay box 'B' designated DIM is for a headlight dimmer feature...was that available on a GX?

Headlight dimmer? Don't think so, DRL's use the amber bulbs in the headlights, not a dimmed high beam on these trucks.

I don't have a relay in that position, and there aren't wiring contacts in there. Possibly auto-dimming headlights for another market?
My theory about the unused connector behind the passenger bumper is it's for a headlight washer pump. Which we don't get either.

maybe my expectation that the fan activates once the A/C is turned on is wrong? I haven't warmed the car since I installed the replacement fan.

I'm pretty sure the AC condensor fan is triggered only when needed.

Weak blowing? Some of these GX's have a diverter issue where the diverter in dash kinda get's stuck, plastic parts, etc. Check that too.

If the AC is not cold enough you have to put a gauge set on and clamp the lines to get temps of the freon. 45F is fairly decent. The pump could be going, but gauging it out is the best way.

The fan has a bumb relay or switch somewhere. Did you ohm the fan to see if it's toast or not?

This site is full of info, did you see this https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gx-...condition.html

I'm thinking because the fan does spin albeit super slow, this has to be a condenser fan relay...should have checked it first..$100 fan $15 relay..I'll look tomorrow and see if there's another relay I can swap temporarily.

So I go and pull the condenser fan relay and there's available swaps one marked DOME read identical plugged them in started, looked and the fan was operational but just for a moment then stopped (this is all with the A/C on of course)...oddly the dome lights also worked so I'm running to town tomorrow I'll see how it reacts once up to temp.

Nah, it's spinning because the radiator fan is sucking in so much air.

Just ohm the fan pins to make sure it has some correct ohms, if so then the fan is fine. They rarely go half south, when a fan dies, it dies.

Or remove the connector to the fan motor and hook up a 12v battery bank (mind the polarity!) to see if it spins up.

I have nothing to compare, someone please help... on a cold engine, start, turn A/C on, then watch the condenser fan...does it run without stopping after 45sec.?
