I’ve got a 2009 GX with <86k on it. KDSS system, magnaflow catback exhaust
Check engine came on along with the VSC Trac, VSC OFF, and the swerving car symbol.
The car doesn’t drive any different than usual (aside from the VSC being off but I dont like that anyways)
There were a lot of codes but the tech at O’Reilly wrote down maybe half:
C1201
C1223
C1241
P0441
P0455
I replaced the gas cap already (yesterday).
ABS light isn’t on so I assume it isnt the wheel speed sensors?
The alternator is fine and so is the battery (its cold in Alaska so its going to show a low charge always)
I’d rather fix it myself than pay a bunch of money to get it done. Any ideas or tests?
C1201 - nonspecific, but usually relates to stability control being turned off because of an engine management problem.
C1223 - nonspecific, but sometimes is related to a wheel speed sensor or a bad brake switch. Check for crud built up on the tone ring on your wheel hubs.
C1241 - Low battery voltage. Might be part of the cause of the other codes. Change the battery, check the alternator output.
P0441 - Evap system. Often set by a loose gas cap
P0455 - Evap system. Often set by a loose gas cap
Since you've already changed the gas cap, recheck the codes after a week's worth of driving to confirm they went away.
You say the battery voltage is fine - I would get a battery blanket and maybe a heat pad for it and plug it in when you're parked at night.
