That was me that used those airbags. I am now at 224K miles and the airbags are still working fine. Definitely getting my moneys worth out of them!

I managed to pick up an Aisen HST027 ride height sensor recently from Amazon for $100. Just need to get the 029 and then I can go ahead and replace the old rusty (and probably damaged) ones. I'm hoping this will keep the airbags inflated just a bit more than they are now which should keep those bump stops from hitting so often!
I've no idea what to expect when I get down to it. Probably remove the spare tire for a little more space.
Afaik, it should just be plug and play.
Anyone else have experience with replacing these?

Let’s face facts
Compression and airbags are gonna fail in 2000 era vehicles in 2026. Pick a spring conversion! I went with Arnott for 4 Runner , Prado and Gx470 and went with Bilstien 4600 shocks all around and haven’t regretted it! It’s cost effective and works great for standard lift. I had done the drive shaft upgrade before, which was pointless once the spring conversion was done. But at least I got new u joints , so that’s a wash! GX470’s are fantastic vehicles for larger drivers who don’t mind 18 mpg. A hell of a lot better than my big block RWD big block 60’s and 70’s cars that stranded me in the winter.

No experience replacing height sensors. I know there's a procedure in the repair manual, but I suspect if you measure from the center of the wheel hub to the lip of the fender before then match it afterwards (and perhaps a little higher...) you should be good.
