Default Rebuilt Head????

Hi. I have a 2006 GX470 with about 180k miles on it. A week ago I went to start it and it was very difficult to start. Eventually I got it to start and it idled rough but I gave it some gas and eventually it smoothed out. I drove it about 20 miles to a mechanic and it drove fine except for a ticking noise. I have taken it to a few places and it looks like the head may need to be rebuilt. One of the valves is out of tolerance and I was told it was more than a valve job. I am being quoted $1500 to $1800 plus incidentals to rebuild the head. This is my second car and I am just wondering if this a a job to get done and keep vehicle or sell it. Other than this it has been an amazing vehicle. Also, any thoughts on the price to rebuild the head? Thanks!

At 180k you're due for a timing belt change. Have you had this done? I'm wondering if the belt skipped a tooth, taking out your valve.

Hi! Yes, the timing belt was replaced at 100k along with the water pump. Thanks!
