Hi,

I'm new to the forums. I have perfectly working GX 470. It has factory installed DVD system that is giving me some issues. It's skipping and freezing, I'm also having problems with burned disks. Is there any aftermarket replacement that would let me play mp4/divx via USB, SD card etc? I don't really want to replace whole system or radio. Ideally I would just replace the DVD unit itself.

Have you tried giving your DVD player a good cleaning . The lens could be dirty. I have the same system in a 2004 gx470 works fine I would guess you would be able to replace the dvd player its getting one that compatible with your system Try a car stereo installer for info

 

Agree on the cleaning. Also - just to make sure, this is the one with the player in the center armrest console? There were many GX's sold with dealer aftermarket players installed along with headrest screens and parts just aren't available for them (it'd be a full replacement).
