So I refilled with 1 1/2quarts of Syn 75 w 90, took it for a drive and the next day, I had at least 5-6 oz of gear oil on the garage floor, dripping from the actuator. Sooooo, reading your comments makes me feel a bit more comfortable about doing this job. Unfortunately, while I can find the large o-ring, I can't seem to find availability for the 15X23X7 shaft seal. Any sources that you are aware of?? thanks again for a great commentary on this procedure....
Just order from the local dealer?

Well, several others have noted that the Lexus dealers don't have availability of these 15X23X7 mm seals. I am working through a Lexus dealer out of town that is doing some research on these seals for me. He stated that he has NEVER had a request for these seals....BUT, he also stated that he has never had a request for the two 1/2" or so preformed hoses that run from the lower driver's side engine to the oil filter base (or pedestal) and back to the engine. Don't know what those hoses might even be for, as all 4 ends are held in place by simple spring clamps. Surely that cannot be how the oil is circulated into and out of the filter......I hope. Might just put that question out on the forum.....Thanks Ian
