Problems after evaporator change
I've searched this forum for hours but no luck yet. I have a 2005 GX470 with 144k miles and I finished replacing the front leaking evaporator and now cools well. However some things don't work now. I've checked fuses and see none blown. Here are the things which no longer function: Mirrors no longer adjust, airbag light in instrument panel stays on, ride is now very stiff, interior lights won't light, navigation map not there, (radio and air works on screen though), no seat, steering wheel, and mirror memory. Seats do work manually though.
I was very careful reconnecting wiring connectors and actually removed dash two times to be sure I didn't miss something.
There may have been times that I failed to remove the key from the ignition as the brake has to be depressed to move shifter levers in order to remove center console. The battery was not (obviously) unhooked all the time that I disconnected connectors. Might that cause problems? I hope I'm not the only one who's faced this dilemma.
After reading some posts I remember someone mentioned that codes may need to be reset (cleared) with the OBDII apparatus from dealer or mechanic shop. Can the OBDII clear all these problem fault codes thus allowing them to function correctly? I'm old, retired, disabled and cant afford to pay the stealerships. Your help would be greatly appreciated. freddiekd

Why does everyone keep referring dealerships as stealership? If you own a Lexus or any luxury high end vehicle and you can't afford the upkeep/maintenance on it, then don't own one. Or maybe you suffered from a bad experience because a certain technician screwed you over. It doesn't mean every shop or dealership performs the same way.
However, did you check to see if you have any blown fuses? Yea, always unplug Battery when working on electrical systems. Next I'd triple check to see if all connectors are plugged in behind the dash

Well chiph, you were right. A bit more troubleshooting and found connector under steering wheel shaft was not clicked in all the way.
I must say changing the front evaporator is a tough job. Slow and steady.
I have to admit I tend to think if I don't finish a project in 30 minutes the world will end. Can't do the "hurry dance" with gx evaporator changeout.
As another said on this forum. Check, double check, and triple check. Wish I'd done that.
Finished now and wife thinks I'm a genius. Didn't tell her I had to start all over three times.

I just rebuilt the gaming PC over the weekend (still isn't working, but it's not my fault), and dealing with the contortions to plug in the extra CPU power connector back in the corner of the case was a pain.
So I get it. Glad you got it working.
