Default Ride Quality; Shocks?

My 08 GX rides like complete crap. I was recently in an early 2000s chevy suburban without any hydraulic suspension or air ride technology and it literally handles better and rides a million times better than my GX. I am actually appalled by the ride quality, I hate driving the car. I peeked under the car, the airbags look good, but the shocks are absolutely terrible, rusted to hell. Is it the shocks? (probably but just playing stupid) Now if it is the shocks, what should i replace them with; OEM or aftermarket standard (non electro-hydraulic shocks). I just want the car to drive like a boat, I don't wanna feel anything but I don't want my wallet to feel anything either . Thanks for any info/advice!

As the shocks wear, the ride will become softer but bouncier. You should be able to compensate by keeping the damping **** set to the fully firm setting. Eventually they will get so bad that it will still be too bouncy and soft even on the max-firm setting, then it's time for new shocks.

If the ride is too hard/jarring, you got something else wrong. Too much tire pressure maybe? The type of tire you are using and the tire pressure both make a big difference in ride quality. For example I run 35psi on the road with my Goodrich Rugged Terrain T/A's, but I air them down to 24psi for 4x4 roads.
