Default brake controller

2007 gx 470--I have a seven pin outlet and 6500 pound hitch in the back but suspect I need to install a brake controller to run the electric brakes . Anyone have any recommendations on brand or just get U haul to install? The local lexus dealer can't/won't help

I've got a Tekonsha Prodigy in my Tundra for towing (would recommend) but don't know how it'd fit in spaces in the GX.

If you want really easy and almost no install get a wireless
Tekonsha Prodigy they work great and no unit to install
permanently in vehicle.

I also have the Tekonsha. If you buy the Toyota/Lexus cable as an option, it plugs right into a plug near the steering column. You can find the plug by removing the finish panel above the pedals. It is wrapped in blue tape, wrapped to the steering column, I believe. Then just drill 2 small holes in the dash to attach the controller. All pretty easy to do and no need to pay someone.
