Display screen blank- radio and AC work but cant control on touch screen (its blacked out)
tried a few tricks that others had suggested
like hold info and cycle lights 4x
removed positive battery cable and replaced
held menu for a minute
etc etc
Gave up. Went to dealer expecting a unpleasant $$ (buy a new nav screen) type of surprise.
nope! service writer pulled it in to the shop and ....


Disconnected the NEGATIVE battery cable. Fixed it right away and didn't charge me a thing (shouldn't have anyway) He said that sometimes the computer just gets scrambled and shuts itself off as a precaution.


So if you nav screen is blacked out and unresponsive give that a try.

 

Yep. Always disconnect the negative. It shouldn't matter ... but it does.
