I have noticed with speeds of around 30-45 going down a hill and letting off on the gas, the engine breaking seems to grab suddenly with enough drag to make you think your foot has applied 10-15% braking. It is the strangest thing.

Does the vehicle have some sort of free wheeling to engine braking transition? This issue almost seems like a chronic problem getting worse.

Regarding the transmission, those of you that recall, I am still getting that issue where when everything is cold, I back up (out of a spot), stop, put the car in drive, wait for the vehicle to surely shift into drive, then step on the gas, and I feel a clunk and then a final shift.

Is anyon experiencing any of these issues. I need to bring it to the dealer.

 

When I back out of my garage in the morning or any space, I get nothin but just a lot of torque rolling me faster than I want to move, when the truck had only a few hundred miles on it, it felt like engine braking was kicking in on certain spots but that has stopped just have to get use to it.

I feel no clunk and then a final shift, all smooth I would take it in to get looked at, does the noise go away when warm and is it sitting outside in the cold

I've experinced this in all my Lexi (2 GSs, 1SC and now the GX). It seems to me to be a downshift from the automatic tranny as well. I don't think it is anything to worry about. It was kinda strange the 1st time it happened, though.

I noticed the downhill behavior like you, and posted here a few weeks ago about it. I really notice it after slight downhill braking, and almost feel the GX downshift or something to help with the braking. It is really clunky, and I can't believe that it is a "feature".

Either way, I hate it, and intend to mention it at the service, but I fear I'll have to live with it. If your dealer tells you anything interesting about it, please post it here. I'll do the same.
