Default Need high mileage advice

I'm looking to purchase a gx470 with higher miles ~130k. It's up to date on service, but i wanted to hear from members on here that have experience driving these cars to 200k+?

Everyone says the cars are reliable, but having been out for over a decade, I can't find many member accounts of gx470's with over 200k miles. For those of you who are near the 200k ball park or beyond, how has reliability been? Beyond basic oil changes, spark plugs, timing belt, etc, what else has needed replacement?

Thank you guys!
Look forward to joining the club soon.

The 2uzfe engine will last as long as you take care of it. There's PLENTY of guys w/ V8 Tundras (same engine as our GX) that have 300K+ miles. One guy has almost 800K miles on the original engine and transmission.

2uzfe is as reliable as the legendary 22r 4 cylinder motors, they will last on average over 300k miles, it is a Toyota. Just make sure the PO took good care of the vehicle.

I just passed 320k. Zero drive train issues.

Simple maintenance does wonders.......

i have a friend, a single mom, has a 2004 Land Cruiser...same engine...330,000 miles, the only thing that once left her stranded was a fuel pump. everything else has been routine.

I just passed the 120,000k mark and replaced the plugs, filters and changed all the fluids. I used Amsoil for most since I've done this for all of my other Toyotas. Most of which I took up to high miles and still sold them for good $$.

Keep the maintenance up on your GX and you should have a fun, reliable ride up and over 300k +!

My '04 gx470 has ALL SERVICE RECORDS...ALL MAJOR SERVICES COMPLETED....BRAND NEW SNEAKERS....GARAGED KEPT!!!!!!!!!!!

one dealer offered my 12K as a trade in...I puked right on the showroom floor....plus salesperson told me that, the way that you drive, service your GX, you baby it....that GX will last you 300,000 miles with out any doubt....and every time it goes to the dealership...people cant believe that the gx is 11 years old.....so pristine that it looks like it just came off the showroom floor.....EXCEPT...WITHOUT THAT 2014 STICKER PRICE OF 65,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Moral of this.....I will continue to drive it....got another 200,000 miles to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I ran my 91 4runner to almost 300k and gave it to my future son in law to play around with. He has done some mods on it I wish I had done years ago. Now I have an 09 GX with 29k on it.
