Default Check engine light with VSC Track/Off indicator

Hello all,

I hope someone can help me diagnose the problem with my wires 2007 Lexus GX470. The Check Engine light and the VSC Track/Off as well another light that looks like someone is driving there car drunk came on today. I took it to a repair shop and the read the codes. I have the following codes:

P 1441
C1201
C1223
C1241

First, is it safe to drive? Second, what is the indicating the problem is? Third, any way to fix this myself?

Thanks.

I would put this post in the GX470 section, you'll probably get better results there.

According to the information I found with a quick Google search (and that information is consistent with what I've been told by Lexus service advisers at 2 different Lexus dealerships), the issue that needs to be dealt with is likely the injection system code P1441, and, when that is dealt with, the other codes are likely to clear themselves. The vehicle's computer is set up so that, when an issue triggers the check engine light to go on, other systems, such as traction control, skid control, and ABS are disabled, and that triggers the additional codes to be generated even though the problem is with what triggered the primary code.

You can have a failed air injection pump and not throw other codes. I've had other codes (bad O2 & bad gas cap) and the cluster light up like Christmas but I only pulled those specific codes.

Honestly, I would start with the low system voltage one first (C1241/41) by checking to see if the alternator is charging and maybe dropping a new battery in. Modern vehicles are computers with wheels, and they like a reliable voltage.

Plus, of all the codes, it's likely to be the cheapest one to repair, and if it works...

I'm bum out....my check engine light with VSC track/off indicator turned out to be faulty air injection pump, a roughly $2000 repair

Hi, i and some others had similar issues with vehicle safety futures such as trac and skid control disabeled because of an unrelated faluer in a car. This is melitious attempt by Toyota to get you in to a dealer to fix an often minour and non safety related issue by jeopardizing your and others lives on the road. Those are not just the lights! The cars computer does disable the safety fitures such as traction control, skid control, etc.. and puts people at greate risk, and not just u, but people all around you!. If you read my recent posts, tere are people who had unexpectd misshaps because of the Toyota designed the software. I do not see a single reason besides gouging costomers by Toyota to maliciously endeger life to do that. I had my safety features shut off while driving in a middle of snow storm. And frankly i bought that car to minimise potentional risk to self and others, as it snows a lot around here. Thanks i have experience in driving of non assisted cars, not like some others on this forum who actually spun out and possibly endangered their and others at an instant change of a car dinamics when it decided to go blank on safety.
