9005 BC3-6K Generatin III HID Conversion Kit, by Bohmen

Funny thing is the sales guy told me specifically that these were for low beams. The bulbs only fit in the high beam socket.

Now I'm left with the dilemma of trying to figure out why the high beams are stuck on. The dashboard display even indicates the highbeams are on regardless of the position of the light lever.

Unhappy Returns

I think that our lowbeams will not accept the HID kits since the bulb type is H11

I have not seen any HID Kits with this type of bulb.

Since I hardly use the highbeams, I'm hoping to exchange my 9005 for a 9006 which I can use in another car.

Shucks, I was hoping that we could change our lowbeams for a HID kit.

Let me know if you find one for our GX.

I just sent an email to ProXenon. Again, I was told these were for the low beams. Not a big deal at this point, I kind of want to be able to at least toggle between high and low though.

Question Figure it out?

kindly let me know when you figure out why the highbeams are always on.

if i can't return my 9005, i will just install them on the highbeams like you did.

i don't want to install them until i know that you are able to resolve the highbeam always on issue

thank you!

Will do. I haven't received an email yet from them. I'm gonna take another whack it this morning. I think it might a factory relay stuck on.

Confirmed the following.

If you remove the high beam headlamp fuses from the panel, the indicator in the dasboard does not light up indicating hibeams. This tells me the relay most likely doesn't trigger unless there is a load beyond it.

If I remove the lights and put the factory bulbs back in, things return to normal.

I believe the relay needs to be replaced with one with a higher amp rating. Going to look on the web to see.

Mine didn't come with any packaged instructions :-(.

Will need to go to an autoparts store to try. Still kind of strange that a fuse would cause this kind of issue (high beams being stuck on)

Yes please :-)

I just determined that the high beam connector feeds one 12v and one ground when the high beams are on. When the high beams are off, both are 12v. Makes sense I guess they are just toggling the ground when the hi beams are turned off.

I might be missing a ground connection the instructions say to do.
