So I have searched the forum and cannot seem to find an answer to my looming question.
I have an 08GX with factory nav, no rear DVD. Phone syncs fine with the BT in the truck. However I am unable to determine which version (firmware/software) the truck has. I am pretty sure that version 2.2+ will give the ability to stream music from connected BT device (Phone).
Can anyone out there confirm or deny any experience here with the actual connection as it e pertains to the STREAMING AUDIO part? The AUX cable is simply cumbersome and I really don't want to deal with it, not mention the complete lack of control of said unit.
08 gx there is no BT streaming. for lexus, BT streaming didn't start until 2010 models with the gen6 nav i believe. non of the gen5 nav (the one in your car) does BT audio streaming
But the streaming capability should not be hardware related... I am 90% sure that a firmware update is needed in order to get it to work correctly. I am not sure what version of BT is in the truck already (factory) versus what I will need to get it updated to in order stream... I have some experience in this area as I was in the wireless industry for far too long, then again I have been away from it for a couple years.
If anyone else has any input I would appreciate it.
