Default Base GX

Does anyone have a base GX470? I have no need for Nav, 3rd seat, DVD player, or Lexus Link. All I've come accross have had atleast Nav and/or 3rd row.

Talking

Got one from Fresno Lexus. It is a sand dollar Pearl with Charcoal interior. It doesn't have any options like the 3rd seat, nav, or DVD.
The rear has a tonneu cover. Just what I need. You should wait for one at your local Lexus dealer.

We purchase a base one with just wheel locks and spoiler. Silver Pine with gray interior. Nice car!

Default mine...

Mine will arrive next week. It's on a Vegas outing before I get her. Mine is completely base - at base price.

Is the dash any different on models with out Nav? All the pics and vehicles I've seen in person have been Nav cars. Also is there still a couple rear vents in the center console on models w/o the 3rd seat/rear air option?

Default Dash is different

There is no screen for NAV so there is a separate screen (similar to older Lexi) for radio tuning, audio, climate controls. Also there is an in-dash 6 CD changer (vs. in glove).

You guys are nuts spending more on a Base GX than for a Fully Loaded Limited 4Runner that comes with NAV.

I just don't see it, but if it makes you happy I guess that is all that counts

Red face ummm..

Who want's those crappy 4-Runner fenders, no matter what the price? Plus, the quietness alone is enough to buy the Lexus. A quiet car means good dampening, meaning no vibrating panels, which for any car stereo fanatic is gold when you have subwoofers. THAT's why I got a Lexus over a fully loaded 4-runner.

Base model deletes rear AC and vents, but will add rear cargo tonneau cover and rear fold-out hangers.

The Lexus is a lot more expensive than the 4 Runner, but it is a much different looking product both inside and out. Drive better too.

When you say crappy 4Runner fenders do you mean the unpainted ones

As for good dampening, both my Pathfinders and 2 Altimas never had vibrating panels, so I would expect the same form Toyota

I think Im gonna call Toyota and find out how much alike these 2 trucks are

As a car stereo fanatic any system you put in the truck your not gonna hear anything

My 4Runner has the rear AC and vents and you get the rear cargo tonneau cover cause of no third seat but what is the fold out hangers

you sure about it having a better ride, could have been the 90lbs of air pressure in the demo you test drove and maybe you perfer a softer ride the 4Runner is tight

Default vibrating panels

I'm talking vibrating panes with 145dB of subwoofer sound. Not everyday drive vibrating.

EDGE2, even if the 4Runner is a "striped-down" version of the GX. Ask yourself, if the price is the same, which one would you get? Usually 4Runner buyers are the one who can't afford the GX, and since you don't (or I assume you don't) have a Lexus or ever owned a Lexus, you would not have or had appreciated a Lexus or what it felt to own one.
