In all my years I have NEVER heard of doing this for spark plugs! Dont worry about it...
changing air flow meter or induction/exhaust system maybe but not for a simple plug change!

That's exactly what I thought. However a recent thread on the DIY op disconnected the battery and said this would give the computer a chance to reset. He did say that when ever he works on car he always pulls they battery cable off. I don't think that is necc. I just wanted to be sure I did not have to do that. Dont want to have to start re-learning new stations seat setting etc .

Thanks for your responce

Im 100% it will make ZERO differance. He may have said that as a "Safety " precaution.

So I did the spark plug change. Did the drivers side first then started car no errors ran fine. Then I did the passenger side disconnected the MAF sensor so I had room. did each plug one at a time and then plugged each coil pack back in as I did on drivers side.Checked all my connections and also all vacume hoses put it all back together and re-installed the engine covers .

I start engine runs fine then vsc off light comes on check engine light comes on . I shut engine off re-start
same lights come on. I shut down wait 5 min. Re-start no light errors . Drove 15 miles all is normal ,motor is very smooth idle is even and stable.

The only thing I can think of that caused light to come on is new plugs may have triggered the MAF sensor to re-adjust because of the new plugs . Regardless truck runs fine. Very happy with results.
The truck is a 2004 90,000 miles on OEM original set. The manual calls for the spark plug change at
120,000 i did not want to wait that long .

If your rig has 90k on the clock, I would also advise you to do the timing belt.
