Got Mine 12/19/2002
Got mine last night - the first one in Dallas Ft. Worth (or so they tell me). Silver Pine w/ Charcoal interior. Every option.
Absolutely love the thing. Very plush. After being a long time Jeep Grand Cherokee owner (two in the last 9 years) It is a huge step up.
Couldn't be happier.

I originally had ordered the same combo you have Silver Ext. and Charcoal Interior.
Problem was that I would have to wait till January to get one.
Since I decided not to wait, I will be getting my Silver Ext and Beige Interior this weekend.
Just in time for X'Mas.
Now to find a good place beside the tree for the GX.
he heh!

The headlights are Halogen not HID. They look cosmetically like HIDS but do not quite give the same brilliant light. IMHO they are more than adequate though.
The Mark Levinson setup is outstanding. I did not have the time last night to view a DVD but will try it out this weekend. The DVD player supports DTS so it should be good.
The engine pulls very well considering this beast weighs 6100 pounds. Shifting is very smooth and the engine loafs along at about 2000 RPM @ 70 MPH.
The only negative so far are the fold-down armrests on the front seats, I think they could have been more substantial and are positioned a little low on the seat for my taste.
They are coming to my house tomorrow to install the rear spoiler - this Lexus service is going to take some getting used to :-)
I will try to take some pictures and post soon.

Ahh yes. 6100 lbs is the number the salesperson was interested in because there was some confusion about whether or not there was going to be a luxury tax imposed. He said 6000 was the cutoff.
Congratulations! Enjoy the ride and being the first on the board to own one.
I am supposed to get mine this week (same colors) and was wondering - did you pay the luxury tax or not? My dealer still insists that he must collect despite the evidence my fellow CL posters have provided. However, evidence of a sale from another dealer might clinch it!
Thanks.

The dealer should be delivering my Silver Pine Metallic with Charcoal Gray interior before Christmas. Not a bad Christmas present. Optioned with rear entertainment and 3 row seats and tow hitch, no Mark Levinson, Lexus Link or Nav.
Can't wait!

I did not pay the luxury tax although the dealership was in a mad scramble to find out if it was required (mulitiple phone calls, etc). I was confident that I would not have to pay based on the discussions in this forum.
I also have to retract some of what I said about the armrests earlier in this thread. I noticed while reading the manual (now thats a first for me) that the arm rests are adjustable. If you lower them all the way they will maintain any position you stop at while raising them back up. That fixes the positioning problem for me but they still should be beefier.
But damn if that is all that I can find wrong then YAHOO.
Can't wait to go on this road trip over the holidays. May even see some snow.

Went to pick mine up today and - sure enough - the dealer says to me "Good News - we have learned that we don't have to collect Luxury Tax on the GX!"
So all that printing out of IRS pages....anyway thanks guys for the help. They are installing K40/LoJack/Phone today so I drive off tomorrow in my Silver Pine/Ivory...whoo-hoo!
