Default Panel Falling Off

Anybody had any experience with the bottom portion of the exterior trim of the door coming unattached? Its the piece that is about a foot tall on the outside of the door. One side of mine is loose enough to pull back slightly, and it makes a thump when you close the door as it bounces.

Anybody know how to reattach it?

I too have this problem, and am currently trying to search for a solution with no luck. I don't want to just start pulling on itl

Those panels are attached with a good number of plastic clips, and they are sealed around the perimeter of the panels with double-faced tape.

If the panel is just a bit loose, it could be that the tape is failing. If the panel is very loose, it could be that some of the plastic clips are broken or that corrosion on the sheet metal has widened the holes that the clips fit into and the clips are, therefore, no longer held securely onto the door itself.

Also note that, if you try to remove the panel to investigate further, it is likely that you are going to break some of the clips. So, you might want to buy some extra clips that you can use to replace the broken ones. The clips probably need to be ordered from Lexus because they are not a common standard size.
