I dont see why you think the Navi is your problem? Personally I wouldnt consider buying any of these types of cars without the entire technology packages.

God catch, I jusst fixed it. Didnt realize I had posted "with", meant to say "without". No navi, rear view camera, heated seats (heated and cooled in the LS), ML, CD/DVD changer etc no sale for me. And since I only buy used, these all cost me a lot less than they cost the folks who buy new.

ok i understand now, yeah i am with ya on the technology package... after looking at all the work i had to do to add to my truck the way i feel it needs to have i wish there were more selection of trucks out there when i was shopping for one... but mileage and color was top of my list so i had to be practical in the end... but don't see how the op keeps on about not wanting oem navi setup in his truck tho... what a shame...

I dont think the navi is part of the problem with the sl2i-up...however IF I didnt have the factory navi I wouldnt be having these quirky annoying problems because I wouldve swapped the headunit out for a Kenwood navi / dvd and wouldnt be having these problems listening to songs through my iPhone.

Ive said before why I dont like the factory navi. I have a 7yr old GX, theres nothing impressive about the factory navi other than it looks like it belongs in the interior. Other than looks, tell me, what exactly do you find so intriguing about the OEM navi?

there's not so much intrique per se... it's just already there... it looks good... it belongs there... it's one less thing to do to your truck... the process of installing a whole new double din is not as easy as doing an oil change... it's a hassle... i went to car toys to look at what i could've gotten installed in place of the factory radio with cassette player... $200 for install $100 for amp parts $200 for bezel din fabrication... then the $1200 motorized slide down 7" system itself... i negotiated with them that if they knock off half the install fee i will do it... they said the could come down $50 max... i walked out and came home and started searching for desolate and charliejd threads... u c??? hours more of pain of installing it as i am no pro so while it is doable it ain't enjoyable til ur done with the project... time well spent?
enjoy your oem navi

Well I guess thats where me and you differ. I enjoy doing work like that. Is it more time consuming than an oil change, yes...is it harder...to me its not. Too bad youre not closer to Houston because Id swap with you and you could enjoy the OEM navi all day long.
