I have a 2004 GX470. One of my headlight died a few days ago. What headlights (OEM or any other specific brand, halogen pr Xenon) should I get? I thought while I am at it maybe replace both with brighter lights.
Also how hard is it to replace it yourself? I am pretty clumsy when it comes to things like this so easier the better if I would do it myself. I have a call in to the dealer for an appointment but was curious. Thanks!
Some of the high intisity Xenon lights, require extra electrical components and wiring. If you can change your light bulb or bulbs, get in the habit of not touching any bulb with your fingers. The oil on your fingers can shorten the life expectancy on some high intensity bulbs. Use paper towels. If you have a 2004, I would replace both, with OEM bulbs from your local auto parts store. Sylvania has a line of brighter, plug and play, bulbs. This is based on your statement of being clumsy.
Order up the Philips bulb based HID kit with ballast from steve at xenondepot. this kit is legit and works great. totally updates the look and looks proper on an L badged vehicle.

Ive been running ebay xenon bulbs that are plug and play, similar to the silverstars but for 1/4 of the price without issues. I bought 4 bulbs for $10 delivered, cant go wrong even if they last a year or so. They are brighter and whiter than factory halogens. I had silverstars for $40 a pair that didnt last 6 months.
