Default My auto lights do not work.

Even when switched to auto in total darkness, the lights do not come on. We have to manually do it every time. We've had this 2007 with 60k on it for around 3 months and the auto feature didn't work when we got it.

Any ideas?

Where's the sensor that controls when to turn on the lights at night? Is it the round / circular thing on the dash in front of the driver or is it right up there with the rear view mirror?

If yours were covered, it would probably always turn on yours lights - so, the opposite problem that you're having.

You can also adjust the sensitivity settings for auto lights, I think. Again, since yours aren't working even in total darkness, this won't help you.

Good luck!

Do you know the part number for the sensor? I've looked and can't find it.

this

when you put a piece of paper or whatever object blocking light to it in the day, your instrument panels should also go dim assuming you have that set to auto as well

for me, i have my headlights not on auto but on "on" mode all the time as the headlights turn off when i open the door - i like having my headlights on 24/7 (they're also phililps HID).

The sensor is the black dot on the drivers side of the dash. Did you check if the fuse is ok?

There are three possibilities.
1. Either the Sensor is bad or failed and need replacement.
2. Check the Harness or connector ( sometime it is loose which is connected to the Junction box at the driver side foot well.
3. Check the Instrument Panel Junction box which is also located at the Driver side junction box The ECU is right below a shiny silver box. Dont remove the connectors just give it a hard push they could be loose.
try it let us know.
