OK thanks, I ordered the part online. The Lexus/Toyota old part # was 90987-02022, and new part number is # 90987-02028, OEM Denso and Made in Japan, online cost $55 and dealer's cost is $95 before tax.

I replaced the relay with the new part number and it works, the blinking is gone and the AC now works perfectly fine.

Okay, so its the one bellow the Purple one? On my 04 GX470 the current relay is a 90987-02022, I will go get a 90987-02028 and replace it and see what happens. Thx for this thread!!!

Wanted to update all on this. Now this is for a 2004 GX470

I just swapped out the 90987-02022 relay as my AC was not working and showing the "check air conditioner" as shown in my last post. I went to O'Reily's and when giving them the new replacement relay number of 90987-02028, they cross referenced it to this one, 25-0279 (JR66K). I did notice that it shows 90987-02022 right under the 25-0279. I figured I would give it a shot since its $12.99 and see if it works. Lo and Behold, It WORKED!!!!

Here is message I would see on the Navigation screen

Thanks for sharing guys. My AC stopped working on one of the hottest weeks we've had this summer. Light was blinking, and blowing hot air. Found genuine toyota/denso relay on eBay for $20. Replaced it, and everything works perfectly.

Appreciate the help on this issue! My AC stopped working on a 600 mile road trip and I thought I was in for a major repair when I got home. Turns out I needed the relay and looking on Ebay and $7 dollars later, everything is working properly. Thanks!

Angry AC - no workie

So my AC works sort-of... The coldest air vent temp I can get is about 50 degree. The higher your run the fan, the higher the temp air temp goes. EX. hi-fan = 60 degrees temp

I had the system checked, and was spot on where it needed to be. Same result.

Switched to the new, revised relay. Same results.

Changed cabin filter. Same results.

I feel like the AC should be colder at the vent. The AC will produce a low temp of 50 degrees, and no colder. It could be 100 degrees, or 75, I get 50 on max cold.

Any ideas to what I should look at?

Default sc-430 A/c trouble code

Hello, amazing experts,

My Sc-430 A/C compressor is cutting in and out and air is blowing warm and cold intermittently. Trouble code 24 for clutch relay.. Switched the horn and compressor relay did not fix problem, now codes 23 and 24 display: pressure switch circuit and compressor relay, respectively. A/C coolant pressure is good 45 psi on low side.

Any suggestions? maybe change pressure switch and relay? Does anyone know Where is Pressure switch is located?

Thank You

Default Ac only blows hot air

Hey guys, i have a 2004 gx470. The other day my wife was driving and ac worked fine. She got back in and started the truck and now the ac only blows hot air. I did the ac diagnosis, got codes 21 and 24. After some looking on CL i found those are common when done in dark areas. I did the test again in direct sunlight and still same codes. When i turn the ac on the magnetic clutch engages and the fan turns on for about 3-5 seconds then both turn off and the ac light flashes on the touchscreen.

If i reach down to the compressor i can rotate by hand. I have also replaced the mag clutch relay. Checked the door actuators are moving under the glovebox. Ive tried bypassing the high pressure switch as well as the compressor lock sensor. I placed my r134 can with cheapo gauge on the low side and it shows ~130 with ac off, and about 100 when the ac is on for that 3-5 seconds. I cant seem to locate the accumulator to bypass and force the compressor to run to see if im getting bubbles across that sightglass on the high pressure switch.

Can someone help point me in the right direction? Or have any ideas what to try next. Its a bit warm this summer and i really wana get the ac fixed without losin an arm and leg at the dealer so i can get my is300 back from the wife.

Thanks in advance!

You don't have to take it to the dealer for this - any automotive AC shop can check the system out.

Modern AC systems are pretty sensitive to charge levels and lubricating oil amounts. While a Pep-Boys recharge kit *may* work, I'd rather let the pros handle it.

I have the AC button blinking as well. I know I can replace the relay myself, but my question is this- if the system is low on refrigerant and I put this new relay in, will I harm the system? I assume the AC will blink to save the compresser from damage as well.

Bottom line, is putting a new relay in a good first step before taking it to a repair shop?
