Default No audio

My 2007 GX470 after always working perfectly, is now not putting out any audio from radio, CD, nav. When you start the car, you hear a pop sound. Should I assume it is the amp? Went to Car Toys and manager who was shorthanded suggested he try resetting the radio, but could not figure out how to reset it, it that is possible.

Any suggestions on what I should do, where to get fixed, etc? Car is no longer under warranty... do not have extended warranty. Live in Dallas, TX. Thanks for your help!!

Ok try the attached file as a headstart to your Audio issue. You can do them by yourself just need some basic tools. This is what the SOP of Lexus dealers would do to troubleshoot the Audio problems. Hopefully this helps and resolves. cheers

Thanks very much! I ran the diagnostics and it came with: DSP-AMP: NRES

What does NRES mean?

DSP-AMP is the Stereo Component Amplifier Assy - No Response. And NRES means " No Response" from the Diagnosis System.
What needs to be done is check the Stereo Assy Wire Harness behind and use a Good Branded Electronic Circuit Board Cleaner - eg CRC and spray a good amount on the terminals and remove and have them cleaned, allow them to dry it out and reconnect. Once connect Run the Diagnosis Check again and when you come to the error which you have mentioned, Press Code "CLR" for more than 3 Sec to delete the diagnosis memory. After deleting Diagnosis Memmory, Press - "Recheck" and make sure "OK is displayed on the screen. If the troubleshooting has still not solved probably the Stereo Amp Assy is blown.

Now I have another peice of Information. Even if the DTC tool does not detect the failure. If may be stored depending on the battery condition or Voltage for starting the Engine. The Fault would remain in the memory even when the Engine is started. And you re-start . the fault continue to remain. That is why I said my previous mail reply #4 , remove the Stereo System and remove the Harness and have them cleansed properly. Remove each and every wire which are located behind, and possible check for continuity test with the Volt meter.
