Default 2003 GX470 Odometer Calibration

Went on on trip and checked Odometer, slow 3.5-4.0%. Speedometer checked fine with GPS.

Any suggestions on calibration? Or, live with the issue? Does this tie into the MPG/Average MPG readout?

Thanks!

Speedo and odometer reading are affected by overall wheel/tire size. Are you on stock wheels and tires?

How did you measure the error? Even within the same size and different brands of tires revs/mile varies. The circumference of a new tire is different than a bald tire. There is also a degree of error built into most speedometers to keep you a few MPH's below the radar gun. If you read car magazine reviews they always give you the speedometer reading and the actual reading in their stats.

Checked the mileage at 50 and 100 mile intervals on Interstate. The Odometer showed 3.5-4.0% low, while the Speedometer seemed correct. If the Speedometer was affected, it would be 2-3 MPH slow. Is the Navigation tied to the Speedometer unit for MPH and MPG calculations?

The wheels and tires are stock application. The tires were at 32PSI Cold.

Thanks for the suggestions. I hope the multiple quotes are done correctly, first time.

You cant check the speedometer, only police vehicles have calibrated and certified speedometers. You can't verify the the accuracy of mileage markers in the road either.
