Unhappy Crack in NAV screen

Hi, I am a long time viewer and this is my first post. My wife has a 2004 GX470, about one week ago she cracked the NAV screen , and she is now unable to use any of the controls. We contacted our local Lexus dealer and they wanted around $5500 + labor to install a new NAV unit. Is it possible to buy just the screen, if so how hard is it to replace? Another option was to buy a NAV unit off Ebay for around $1500 (still a lot of money) I should think it should be easy to install, just plug and play.

All other options are welcome

Mick

I use to be worried about the situation you are in, but working on another project, I ended up pulling out that screen. It is not that big of a deal to change that screen out. Follow these instructions and about 3/4 of the way through, you see that you only have 4 bolts to remove and a few wire harnesses.

All you have to do is find a screen. That should not be a problem with some searching.

My screen cracked and I am curious whether the touchscreen can be replaced. Saw a bunch of screens for about 200 bucks on ebay, mostly from China, supposedly manufactured by Toshiba. Has anyone had any experience with the replacing touchscreens?

Thank you.
