Default Navigation Issues

I am having an issue with my nav and hoping someone can help. I've read every thread on this site, but nothing is quite on target. I am not receiving any satellite signal on my GPS, ever. I can calibrate the location to get back on track, but that only works for a while, then i'm driving in the ocean again.

What I've done so far:
1. replaced the battery (followed all directions to reset windows etc.)
2. Pulled the head unit out to look for loose wires.
I noticed that one of the four harnesses is missing completely. (looks like a yellow and white wire based on photos) i used https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gx-...-pictures.html as a guide. I do not have rear entertainment or sat. radio and thought maybe this harness is only required for that setup, but do not know.
3. verified all glass except the windshield is oem. The windsheild says solartint which i think is just the distributer, but appears to have been replaced either way.
4. went through all the menus looking for the obvious. the nav software version is 3.1.

I purchased the vehicle used, site unseen so have no idea what's been done or undone. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I believe that harness is used for 6 pin port (video), I also have 3 wire harness at back of my HU (no rear entertainment dvd), that's the port I've used to display video from my iphone (Vaistech Unit) and perform that hack for both video and bluetooth while in motion.
