I haven't in all honesty, so probably doesn't help much. I used a plastic/aluminum one off of ebay for both my 4Runner and GX. I've had really good luck with them. The 4runner, I put nearly 50k on it with no issues and the GX, about 10k with no issues. The cost savings probably isn't huge, but worth a look. The quality on the replacement was better than oem.
