vicpai, my horsepower spec on the new RX330 came from whitels' June 1 "I saw the RX330 with my own two eyes" posting in the RX300 forum where he actually participated in a Lexus survey on new upcoming Lexus SUVs. The RX330 230HP sounds "right" to me especially when the Acura and Honda's SUV equivalent have 240HP however I hope you are right about your 235HP number because the RX needs all the power it can get to have a decent pep. As far as the 240HP V8 engine spec for the 2003 4Runner is concerned, it came from the May 13 Autoweek magazine. The big question is no one knows for sure whether the RX330 is a 2003 or 2004 model.
I agree that the new RX330 is highly unlikely to be longer than the GX470 however whitel points out in his posting that it is longer than the current design (most likely to be the same length as the current Highlander). I believe either C&D or MT also mentioned that the next generation RX will be the same length as the Highlander which to me makes sense. All I can say is the GX seems quite rugged looking as opposed to the more personal look on the RX. I definitely like to reserve my opinion about it until I get a chance to test drive one.

It has been reported that the LX470 will remain at its current size to compete with the likes of the Range Rover as a true "premium" luxury SUV with true off-road capabilities. As for a Navigator sized model, it is rumored that Lexus has its eyes on the Sequoia platform, and is developing a model to be called the VX540 on an updated Sequoia chassis. This reflects the larger engines Toyota is developing for its truck line. It would most likely be shared with the next LX, making that the LX540. As for pricing.. I would guess that the VX would be more in the 50's to very low 60's range.

........Autoweek has IMHO given many erroneous "predictions" in the past......they even said the next RX will be something like 9 inches longer and have a 3rd row seat
... Although, I can't say 100% for sure, I am more willing to trust what I saw with my own eyes - the leaflet circulated for Toyota insiders!
