My wife has an 2005 GX470. I thought I heard something about a product that allows your iPhone to come up on the nav screen and to play music through the stereo. My BMW 335i does this. It also does it through usb flash drives and my wife loves the feature. I'd like to do this for her birthday. Anyone know what the product is or if it exists. Is it something Lexus installs? I could've sworn I'd read something about it somewhere. Anyone?

 

VAIS has iPod integration kits for the GX.

They work for the iPhone as well.

Yes, you can have a car stereo place do the install. Some have done it themselves, but the wood panels that have to be removed are pretty fragile.

 

You can use any integration kit that plugs into the factory deck's changer plug. I used the USA Spec unit myself and it works great.

Which Model USA Spec did you use? I have tried to contact them several times about an online retailer, and they never respond. I had a USA spec unit in my Hummer H2 and it worked fine until I got a 3GS iphone. I called them about it, and they would not update the firmware on it because they said I bought it from an unauthorized retailer.
So I am not sure I will buy from them again, especially since they won't tell me where I can get an "authorized" one online.
