I currently have the factory Mark Levinson head unit in my GX. I really hate the sound and want to upgrade. I contacted my local audio shop and they explained to me that if I change the headunit it will conflict with my navigation system.

I'm wondering if any other GX owners have upgraded their head unit and if they have experienced any conflicts with their navigation system.

Any input is appreicate, thanks!

 

I think if you have factory Nav, you are out of luck. How would you control the A/C, etc, without the factory integration to the screen?

My current problem is the sound in my GX doesn't sound "full" for my taste. Last summer I added a new subwoofer and amp professionally installed, but something is still not right. I'm not looking to wake up the neighbors, but just looking for a "fuller" sound. I thought about adding new speakers, but if the headunit won't provide enough power to the speakers then I see it pointless.

At this point I'm on the fence between getting a new headunit or buying the Vais Ipod/Iphone intergration. Trying to figure out where to spend my money. I would rather upgrade my headunit that would have an aux input in the front. But if it's going to cause problems with the navi and that's a no go. I really don't care about controlling the audio through the touch screen, but if it's going to cause problems with the Navigation system or the climate control; then it's not worth it.

I'm just putting it out there to see if any GX owners have upgraded their headunit and if any have experienced any conflicts with the navigation system as the audio professional had shared with me. I just find it very hard to believe.
