Default New GX info

The 2010 GX will begin production in November 2009. It will hopefully be out by December, maybe January.

It will be a mini-LX. The back gate remains the same, but the 3rd-row seats will now be fold flat, like an Expedition.

That seems to be a very fast reveal! What auto show would the new GX premiere at? I was thinking more like late 2010.

Thanks for the info!

They released the info for the LX570 about 9 months before they released the first LX.

So it will be AWD (like an Expedition) and not 4x4 (like an Land Cruiser/LX).

It will still be a true 4X4. The GX is sold all over the world as an exceptionally capable off-road vehicle. Don't expect that to change.

Any sneak preview pics available? Usually Lexus is extremely good at keeping secrets.

I hope it would be 4x4, but then there would be no way to "fold flat" rear seats.

Nope. We have to wait just like everyone else.

The unveiling is tomorrow at L.A., isn't it?

You can buy an Expedition 4X4 with fold-flat 3rd row.

They aren't going to change the bsaic vehicle, it will still be an incredible off-roader.

And the fold-flat 3rd row has been confirmed multiple times for us.

The new RX350/450h will be there but I don't see the GX on the list:

Probably won't see the new GX until the Detroit show.

Expedition has a lot more space behind and above the diff. Fold down seats on current 4-runner are not really "fold-flat" . I see why Toyota would want to do fold-flat 3rd row (I personally prefer to keep extra 100+lb in the garage, given that I use it once a year).

Unfortunately, from everything what I hear I think it will be nice on-road mall cruising SUV. I haven't heard a single comment about new suspension/transmission/diff technology to be used, just bunch of "extremely exiting" talk about useless cosmetics. But I hope that I am wrong.
