Default windshield sun shades

Does anyone use windshield sun shades? I am trying to find highly collapsible one, but nice... Any recommendations?

Thanks,

Thanks,
I've been really happy with the one I bought from the dealership. It's pretty thick and shaped like the windshield, so you get great coverage and it does a great job of keeping out the heat and protecting the dash. I can't quite remember the brand, but it comes rolled up with an octagon shaped yellow and black sleeve around the top. I recall paying $25 for it

I just got mine from SEWELL and it was nearly 1/2 the price of my dealer. It fits perfectly!

Are you guys talking about http://www.sewellpartsonline.com/par...l.asp?id=90078 ?

I was thinking more along the lines of http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...l/-/B000BQR100 so I could collapse it in to the door packet.

Vadim - IMO, they look akward. What are you trying to accomplish? If you want to keep the car cooler and avoid having the sun beat down on the dash, I would suggest going with the sunshade. It is one piece and is cut perfectly for the mirror.

Actually, now that I think about it - does the car in the amazon picture even have a rear view mirror? Just food for thought

I am not worried about temperature, tilted sunroof keeps it under control.

I am mostly worried about sun heating up sterling wheel and seats to the point that it is to hot to touch/seat on it (my wife got burn on the legs today ). One in amazon has the idea of what I would want (light, easy to collapse), but I don't think it of good quality. One from Lexus seems to consume too much space folded up, so it would have to be in the trunk, which would highly reduce usability.

I use this one - it is thick and padded but folds nicely. Really keeps the heat down and has nice coverage. It even has the Lexus logo on it and comes with a storage bag. I think the cost was about $50.

I believe the picture is actuallly the fold up one but the price is the roll up type - web site mistake. You need to tell them you want the thicker fold up type and they will get you the right one. If you want the roll up type then just order the one you see.

Here's a different one that an LS member is using. It opens like a curtain:

I got shades identical to one at Amazon. They fit OK, but cover the sun, so I would say they work. When you fold them, they fit in to the door packet. On the other hand, I am not sure how long they would survive (for $10 it is not a main concern), but there is a chance that metal peace on the perimeter of the shades may start scratching the car.
