Replacing the Mirror
The wife got a little too close to the garage door and broke the drivers side mirror. Got a new one color matched one from Lexus coming for $240. Anybody changed theirs out and have any tips to offer?
If you have worked on car interiors in the past, it's easy to do. You do have to remove the interior door panel and the little triangular shaped black trim up near the mirror mount. When you remove the black plastic trim, you will see the 3 nuts holding the mirror to the door, but the entire door panel needs to be removed to get to the wire connection for the mirror.
Did your wife damage the entire mirror housing or just break the mirror itself?
The mirror itself can be replaced without taking any interior parts off the vehicle. And it only costs about $65.00.
