Question What do you do when you see another GX?

I was wondering what people do when they see another fellow GX driver?

When I use to own a Supra, fellow Supra owners would flip their lights up and down as a way of saying hey!

We should see if we can get something going across all GX owners.

Something like flashing the hazard lights? I think the headlight flashing is old school.

You must have had a pre 93 supra then huh?

What I do: I drive by them slowly and pass them a little bit so they can check out my HID's and my 08 tailights and get to wondering if those are new options! haha.

yup! an 84 and an 85 when I was in highschool. I bought the 85 as my 1st car while in HS from a dealer auction. Smashed front end - costed $987 to buy another $2K to repair. Drove it for 4 yrs when the same fate happened to it again - luckily not my fault so I got back in insurance what I paid for it in the first place so I bought another.

Please don't start that.

Jeep owners do it.
Porsche owners do it.
Motorcyclists do it.
Boaters do it.

At one point, I owned all of the above at the same time. Felt like I spent my whole life waving to strangers.

What a small world, I owned a 84 Supra as well after I graduated from high school. That car had some real nice seats and drew a lot of attention.

Initially with the new car novelty, I did try to give the comradery wave. If it's a female driver, either they would look with a "weirdo" or "freak" or their husband would get mad

If it's a male driver, he would give a "wtf do I know you?" look.

Most people drive with their horse blind folds on so I don't do it anymore

Once in a while if it's a parking lot or an intersection, I give a courtesy wave and give them the right of way.

Now that I don't have the GX, it's this now when I see another gx on the road

I think the whole idea of "waving" or whatever sign you want to do when you see someone with the same vehicle is not really applicable to the GX. For that matter not really applicable to Lexus cars in general (now there may be a few exceptions so don't jump all over me).

Like Corvette drivers for instance, or motorcycle riders... they "most likely" are REALLY into the vehicle they own. Meaning they are a hobbyist and have respect for others who share the same passion. GX owners are often Moms or People who just want a good grocery getter or weekend mountain trip car. They are not hobbyists. Take a look at the number of threads started each day in our GX forum. Now compare that to a BMW M3 forum and so forth.

SO basically, I really don't look twice or bother give a wave to another GX owner.

Yeah..I agree with your point. The Supra, NSX, 300Z, Corvette, Porsche, Mustang, etc are mostly hobbyist that do have appreciation for their "babies".

Perhaps someday Lexus will come out with a sport luxury vehicle that we all can be fanatics about.

I loved those seats!!! Didn't feel a thing on long trips. My friends who had recaro seats were willing to trade for them. I wouldn't have any of that.

I haven't seen it or driven it yet so I can't say. I got an IS250 as a loaner when my GX was being serviced and I hated it. I felt as if it was too cramped inside. I'm average size 5' 11" - 185lbs.

yeah I know what you mean. I like my GX but its not the GX that I really wanted. I had to settle for the one I bought because my 4-Runner had sporadic transmission problems so I got rid of it before it really showed up and traded it in.

If I had my choice it'd be the blizzard pearl white with all the options. I'm missing the spoiler, DVD entertainment system and towing package oh yeah the KDSS would be a nice to have too.
