Default Wheel Corrosion

A few weeks ago there was a thread about the wheel corrosion. I have this issue and Lexus of Annapolis Maryland is giving me a hard time about replacing them. I would like to show them that this is not an isolated occurance. Anybody know where I can find the thread to print some of the pics of other peoples wheels.

it doesn't have any pictures. If you know for a fact that it was due to defect then pursue warranty to the fullest.

That's funny. Lexus of Annapolis swapped mine out with no problem. What year is your truck? I bought a 2003 CPO and lexus took care of it.I always deal with Joe, but everyone there is great...IMO

I have never had a problem before this that they have not fixed. I am currently working with Lexus customer service to get it resolved. I was first told that the wrrenty expired at 4yr/ 50000. I was dealing with Scott and he turned me over to Pete Paul? The warranty book says that the corrosion warranty is for 72 months with no limit on milage. I am trying to get it taken care of under that warranty.

I just checked my rims and they're rushing under the paint also so i'll let them know about it. i'm coming close to my warranty expiring so i need to look in and out to make sure they isn't anymore flaws and i hope there isn't because this is suppose to be lexus quality. But good luck to you JGX, i'm pretty sure they'll replace them for you because it was a defect, not your fault.

I'm taking my rims in to the dealer for this as well. I'm showing signs of rust on all wheels with the rust coming under the paint.

Will report back once I get it back.

I'm starting to get a feeling that this is happening to a lot of lexus rims. I've seen some rushing on some used lexus car lots as well. I wonder if it'll be a recall?

The rust warranty is for 72 months with no limit on milage, but its a rust thru warranty, not surface rust. There will be no recall on rusting rims since it is not a safety issue, at best maybe a TSB.

Yeah I got mine replaced by my dealer under warranty.

What's interesting was that when I brought the truck in for the replacement they never looked at the new rims since they were still in boxes. In turns out that when the took the rims out of the box they were worst then what i had on mine so they had to order a new set for me, even though the set in the box was suppose to be new.

Here's the thread I started a few months back.
