I leased a 2007 GX470 thru Lexus Financial and now with another baby on the way, i realized that its too small for us. I'm considering going to Swaplease.com or a similar site and see if i can get someone to take over the lease.

Does anyone have any expience with this? how easy is it to do the transfer?

whats the residual value at lease end? The hardest part of transferring a lease is to find someone willing to take the transfer...........I have a friend who transferred a BMW X5 and ended up giving a $3K incentive to get it done. Success depends on how bad you want out, unfortunately, those with the greatest success have 2 years or less left on the lease, and have LOTS of mileage left to burn.

Good lord! How big is that baby gonna be? The GX can EASILY handle 7 people (with your RSES) so why the rush to get out of it? There is not that much else is THAT much bigger other than a Suburban. If you have fewer than 4 kids, seems like the GX should be fine.

Well , one thing I have found that also has been posted is the odd attachment locations for the baby seats. This could be a reason. With our Britax Marathan in the rear middle things are very tight on either side-even less so in the in-laws RX350. So I would think with 2 babies and 2 adults things would still be ok, but with 3 babies things would be difficult.

There is no rush to get out, but i would like something bigger - i also have a 120lb dog so once the baby does arrive, i know it will be a tight squeeze with all of us going on a road trip.

The 120LB dog really puts you on a dillema. I got 4kids... ages 4, 7, 9, 14 that's why I got the GX w/third row. On short trips it's plenty of room for everyone. I take the driver side 3rd row seat off and there's plenty of room there for luggage. For long trips, camping... I use my Thule box and it works well for us. I even take 4 bikes on a hitch rack with all that and it works very well for us. sometimes we take my Mom (she loves riding my GX) to camping so she sits on the second row with the 2 little ones and the 2 bigger kids take the 3rd row (they love it there- i hook up their PS2 and separate screen they can stay there for hours).
I guess what I am trying to say is... The GX is very VERSATILE. you can do all that and more and if you want take the wife on a Friday night date in style (i always get complements from the valet parking attendants...about the GX... wife including) or a short trip on a countryside... IT STILL WORKS! It is not too big to drive around town and yet it's big enough when you needed more space.

So what has gotten into your mine... trading the GX! I guess its OK only if you go with the LX. We'll miss you on this forum though...Goodluck!
