I'm actually happy they didn't change much - keeps my old '03 from looking dated Also, I like having the casette tape - I have to listen to a lot of continuing education stuff and most of it still comes on casette tape. It does look a little silly though. My brother poked fun at the appearance of my radio the first time I took him for a ride. After I showed him the hidden controls in the nav screen, the 6 disc changer in the glove box and cranked up the volume, he stopped making fun and said it sounded better then his home stereo

I'm disappointed that it doesn't have the ignition button. I got an IS as a loaner last week and liked the ignition button.
GX's ignition key is not that bad. Turn the key once and the engine starts automatically. Unlike the ignition button, need to press/hold the button to start the engine.
The 08 GX is just a very small update. Nobody should have been expecting significant changes from it. The GX gets a full redesign soon, and that should have a lot of the changes that people want.
No offense to anyone who has an '08 on order, but the new "medium brown walnut" trim doesn't look as nice IMO as the previous years' birds eye maple, here's a pic of the walnut:
Here's a pic of the prior years' maple:
Walnut might look better with a dark inteior - but with the light interior I think the maple looks much better.

what about 75k for a cassette deck in a lx470
man a car at this price range is ridiculous to have a cassette deck
they should have it in dash cd player atleast they fixed it in the lx570
thats the only disappointing thing in our 06 lx470
I use the cassette deck to plug my Ipod into. I have been through three different FM modulators and haven't been happy with any of them. Until they give us an ipod cord, then a cassete deck wil do just fine.
And hey who wouldn't want to listen to their old cassettes from the 80's

The button is one-touch as well. But I do appreciate the crank-hold feature on the GX, despite the key!
Ya know, it does boggle the mind that both the interior and exterior have received almost no updates since I procured mine in 2003-virtually indistinguishable. Even the wheels are the same-amazing.
No wonder the resale is so good on the early GX's, as they look just like the ones on the showroom floor.
Lexus is really squeezing all the juice out of this model.

Last month my dealer gave me a GS300AWD as loaner. I think the ignition button works like the followings:
Touch the button once will turn on accessories like the radio.
Touch the button twice will turn on check engine light....
Need to press/hold the button for 1-2 seconds to start the engine. I think that's a safety feature.
I am not saying that the key works better than button or vice versa, just don't think it's a big deal.
