05 Gx---Started okay and backed out of driveway. Started down the street and kept pushing on the pedal but didn't get much increase in speed. Had pedal almost to the floor. Pulled over. Killled engine and restarted. Everything okay. ,,,,Like a Microsoft reboot problem. Anyone else ever have this?

 

Sounds exactly like the pedal position sensor or throttle position sensor. It will most likely come back and get progressively worse. I replaced them in every Lexus I have owned.

 

I agree. Since the pedal is fly by wire, it is prob a sensor.

About a year ago I had a similar problem with my GX, I did the same thing you did (kill the engine, restart) and I have not had an issue since.

 

Call ahead for a loaner, and schedule Lexus look at it... It's more than likely a known problem.
