Question 3rd Row Seats and Rear AC: Optional?

I've been playing with the "build your own Lexus" function on the Lexus web site, and it doesn't seem to let me build one without the 3rd row seats and rear AC, however elsewhere on the site it calls them "options."

So is it possible to buy a new GX without them?

(Don't need it, and it will just end up cluttering the garage, so why buy it?)

Thanks!

Yes, the 3rd row seats are an option. However, Lexus does not ship any GXs in the contintental US without this "option." You will have to place a custom order for one without 3rd row seats. As a bonus, the GX will have a tonneau cover, which are not available for 3rd row seat vehicles.

Yes, you can order one without it. I did and love it! It may take longer to get one without it but it is worth it. The 3rd row seat is basically worthless and I did not want to pay for something that will sit in the basement. Like what rtanouye said, the tonneau cover is a very nice bonus that I do use a lot.

Just to have the Rear Air Conditioner is worth it to me. I do miss the Cargo Cover, however. They are nice. I had one on my QX4.

I would think that a person could make a better deal and get a better price on trade-in / re-sale with a GX with the third seat option, to make up for the extra price listed.

I concur with with Cap statement. If you care about the comfort of people in the 2nd seat, you are taxi'ing about. You could appreciate how much the Aux AC cools the truck down on a hot day. And if you live on the North American Continent, I am sure you have had a few of those lately ...
Having the extra set of seats is trivial compared to the climate control boost the extra air gives to the truck.
BTW, it would be nice if, Lexus, would offer the Tonneau option, even for those with the 3rd row seating. But, I don't always expect that kind of forward thinking from them. Too advanced ...
