Default Forgot release parking break

I forgot release parking break and drove about half mile until I heard some very loud da da da sound from bottom. After stop and release the break, there's no warning light on and seems like everything is fine.
I just wondering will this cause some damage to the parking break or others. Thanks.
And I really think the parking break should give me some beep warning at the beginning of driving, like some BMW and MB doing.

I've had the same experience a couple of times after leaving a car-wash. There apparently was no damage, as the parking-brake works perfectly.

Same here, I forgot to release the parking brake once. Gave it a little gas and the car didnt move.

Mine doesn't even think of the parking brake as a speed bump - not even a hesitation when it is on!

Of course depends on how far up you jerk it to set it on.

Light pull to just a few clicks up, won't be much effect.
