Default Just A New Kinda Problem

Well i own a black GX and recently noticed lot of stone chips ... so i called dealership.. and they told me to use touch pen and then may be install bug shield or clear bra.
So i got the pen and tried touching up ... but after i touched up about 50 stone chips around the front grill and lower bonnet area... i realize they are very noticable and stand out... i mean its good that they r not white chips anymore.. but you can still see number of black dots on the front and it doesnt look good at all.
is there any way i could blend these little touchup spots with the rest of the bonnet or they will always stand out now? .. please help.. i obviously don't wanna paint the whole bonnet for it.. and i mean it was the dealership who recommended using the touch up pen saying thats what the touch pen is there for.. to touch up the stone chips... with paint on one and clear coat on the other side.
PLS ADVICE GUYS.

Hi Adil,

Check this link out: http://langka.com/.

It's a pretty neat product that I first tried last year. The results are not perfect, but certainly better than just leaving a blob of touch-up paint on there. There is a bit of a learning curve, but all in all, it's easy to use as long as you are patient.

The more "proper" way to repair the chip entails wet sanding the blob with 2000 or 3000 grit and then polishing the paint to blend it in.

Here's an article you may find interesting: http://www.guidetodetailing.com/art...hp?articleId=27

Good luck!

Yunno that "touch up pen" that Lexus sells seems to be very off on color. I was touching up my wife's Millenium Silver GS and the pen they gave me is a slightly darker shade, making the chips stick out even more. Road rash really sucks! Do you think you'll end up resorting to a professional repaint and then an install of the ClearBra?

BTW - if you use a touch up pen, make sure to SHAKE it very, very well. Most cases of color not matching was because the paint was not mixed well enough before use. Just FYI.

Default Wonderful - glad it worked out

Perfect time to get a clear bra on now!!! Unless you don't mind the look of a bug deflector on your GX... I know they are useful but IMHO a bug deflector would disturb the nice looks of the GX.

I agree. Bug deflectors and those front push bars or whatever they are called do ruin the front end of any vehicle. Especially the GX with its beautifully sculpted front end.

I agree that bug deflecter ruins the front end look .. but it can't look as bad as 100's of stone chips that r so noticable in a black car. and since the delecter of GX is black in color n it takes the shape of GX hood (around the front grill) its not as bad on a black one.
i have already ordered it.. will be posting pics with and without it.. lets c.
