Kormaster...I purchased my GX from Tustin Lexus as well and was just about to give them a call regarding the clunk. Did they fix your issue appropriately?

$3,500 drive of, $732 a month. Does this sound like a good deal?

Also, do the new one have the clunk? Why dont we see it mention in consumer reports or any of the other car mags?

Thanks.

Ritzinger...if have an 06 GX470 with Sport Package and I have the clunk with about 4000 miles on vehicle. I personally think you are getting a pretty good deal at $732 a month, especially since it is fully loaded. Mine is fully loaded in addition to sport package and I pay $800 for 15K miles 3 yr lease.

Default Service tech feedback....

well spoke to service tech at dealership (not the frontline dummies with standard replies but someone working in the shop ) - he indicated they have changed 4 to 5 GXs with the new TSB - one customer had returned noting he had noticed the clunk again - so perhaps not a 100% fix but better than the past...he noted this is the 2nd or 3rd TSB on the clunk by Lexus and there were issues in other Lexus/Toyota as well...

Recommended waiting a couple of months but he said the clunk does no damage to the car - more of a subtle nusiance.....well i have a '06 GX with a few thousand miles so warranty not running out anytime soon....

Hmm, if you amortize that $3500, you're pretty close to my payment of $879 on my 60 month purchase (zero down, 4%) of a loaded (minus KDSS and RSES) 04 GX. At the end of my first 3 years, there will be $21,000 left to pay on the GX. I can't predict the future, but I have a strong feeling that the GX will be worth more than $21,000 at that point. Three year old (2003) GXs are currently listed from the low 30's to the low 40's. So I don't think those are very good lease deals.

for $20 more per month I own mine (2004) and I put only $2500 down and the car is worth about $2k more than I owe on it.

I had the TSB done in addition to routine maintenance. I do not notice the clunk anymore. Aside from that, I cannot say that anything else seems different. Perhaps the transmission feels a little more like it did when I got it, but I think that is just in my mind. I am glad I had the fix done.

I would recommend it to anyone who is still waiting, I too was waiting but decided to be brave and do it. Why wait with the clunk any further.

Since the Clunk was really the only problem GX owners complained of, I guess if this is solved, the GX is basically a perfect car !

Props to Lexus for figuring out a fix to the clunk !

I am finally taking mine in tomorrow to get the clunk fixed. My dealership did not have the parts in stock, so it took them about 2 weeks to get them in. Will keep you updated.

All is good for now. Definitely get the fix as soon as you can. Your dealer may have to order parts and it took 2 weeks for my parts to finally come into so I could get this fixed.

Did mine, had it back in 1/2 a day. No clunk although I do believe there is more drivetrain noise resonating through the stiffer control arm bushings.
