Default Playing CD-Rs

I just wanted to see if anyone else noticed a difference in volume level and sound quality when playing home made mix CDs in the GX. Since it is rather difficult to get to the 6 CD changer when driving, I made a couple of mix CDs from my computer and tried playing them in my GX. They sound awful. I played them in my wife's car and they sound fine. Anyone else experience this?

I assume you have the ML system since you said it is rather difficult to get to the 6 CD changer when driving. I have the base Pioneer system and I play CD-Rs on it and it sounds fine, my CD changer is in dash so I pop in out and out easily. What format did you record your CD-R in?

Default CD-R's

I did get poor sound quality on my ML sp. MP3/ ATRAC etc. CD-R, initially. Found out that my software's default downloading and burning transfer bit rate was at 66 kbps. Raised it to 132 and 320 kbps (max) respectively, what a difference. I did had a bad experience on flaking off CD-R...I will only stick with TDK and Fuji brands.

On my Lexus Wishlist I would have the following:

1. System to be able to play MP3 CDs (ie burned as Data with mp3s not CD-audio) - something that Range Rover already does with the same DENSO Nav Software btw
2. Better Bluetooth with voice activated Dialing...

oh well... I believe IS350 does play mp3 cds?

Amen, brother. The first is even available on the 06 Forerunner - and probably will be on the 07 GX. Add in a simple aux audio plug and it would be perfect.

Thanks kokohead. I'll make sure that I look into this. However, my 4Runner didn't have a problem with my current transfer rate. But, it obviously doesn't have the ML sp.
