Well, I special ordered my 07 GX from my dealer in Calif. The color combo is really hard to find. We did a nationwide search for a Cypress Pearl with a Gray interior and only found 4 back east. We found none with the sport interior. From all the comments here at CL I wanted the KDSS so a special order was the only way to go. I'll get everything except RSES and change to Chrome Factory Wheels. I'll be interested how different it will be from my 04 GX. They said it should be in as soon as the 07's come out..

 

Nice Gx is a great truck to cruise in.

 

So when do 07's cme out and what is different about them.

 

I haven't heard of any big changes, but by the time I order an 06, it would by July. My dealer said you may as well order an 07 buying that late in the model year.

 

read on the Lexus website that the 06 GX has different taillamps, they are LED like the 4Runner? anyone seen this or have any pictures?

 

I had an 05 GX and now an 06 GX. Same tailights in both vehicles and they are not LED. Maybe for 07, they will change them to LED.

 

If you order now, you do know that you will have about a 6 month wait for the 07 GX? Thats a long time to wait for any vehicle.

 

Just got back from the dealer, 07 GX470 will have full voice command Navigation (NAV5 i think he called it) so you can put in destinations while driving. Its supposed to be much more advanced than the 06. I may be ordering my 07 in the next couple of days ill let you know!

 

Prayn - I figured they would go to the Gen5 navigation system for 07 - by all rights they should have had it for 06, like the IS (and I believe the Toyota 4Runner!) did. They had the Gen5, they just didn't give it to us 06 buyers. It was on the 06 IS.

The 07 RX350 is already out, complete with Gen5. I test drove one last week. The graphics are at least a notch better in terms of resolution, and the backup camera seemed much better. The sound system, which I assume is upgraded with it, has the in dash feed feature instead of the 1980's CD changer in the glove compartment in the 06. It should also take MP3 discs.

The RX did not have the simple stereo jack that allows simple plug in for external audio like IPODs - not sure why, as this is cheap to make and is found on $15 boomboxes (as well as the IS and the Toyota). I don't know what the GX will have.

The Gen5 system will really bring the GX up to the standards of most of the other upper end vehicles out there - I just wish they would have given it to us in 06!

 

I am hoping that it will have those other fetures..In dash 6 loader ect. My 05 pathfinder has that and even though I mainly just use the Ipod its nice to load 6 cds in the dash. The dealer didnt call back b/c he has to speak to the Regional dealer to see when they will release the 07. Once I find that out and get a handle on what changes are really going to be made, then I will place my order. I would rather wait for the 07 w/upgrades than order the 06 being that i would get them around the same time. I was told I would get the 07 around Aug/sept. Again thats not the final word buts its a starting point. From what he had told me, no major changes some minor upgrades only. Ill let you know.

 

I thought we usually had to wait until late summer/early fall before we got details on the new models. I'd like to see the updated NAV system, iPod, XM, Bluetooth.

As for the NAV, it's silly that we have to pay $300 for a new disc every year. You can get a TomTom unit for a Palm that gets updated about every 6 months for free.

I just picked up my 2007 GX470 fully loaded and with crome rims. NAV is great! GEN 5 is better than my Gen 4 on my previous 05

 

so did you get the first one on CL? Who got the first one? Who has the bragging rights? Lets see some pictures baby! Also, does the 07 have the LEDs?

 

Well I started this thread feeling pretty good. My dealer ordered me a GX and tried to turn the order in since May. He was not allowed to turn it in till about a month ago............

Then WHAM !!!

Lexus did change color and option packages for 07. They of course assured my dealer there would be no changes...

So my special order was kicked back on Wed.....

Man , I'm disapointed.........
