Default Help on light bulbs

I recently put in the xd 4300k kit on my gx and it is awesome (pics coming soon I promise), but like many others before me, the other lights on the front look really yellow, so in my attempt to fix that, I purchased some Eurolite bulbs to put in, just got them, I purchased the Xenon super plasma xb bulbs for both my high beams and fogs, and some white led's for the white marker/parking lights (194's). All are supposed to be 4100k color temp.

They look aweful - complete waste of $70 bucks (except for the LED's which just don't exist and never shipped). The Eurolites are totally yellow, I put them in with the factory bulbs and the fogs are 100% identical color, the highs are minorly different, but it may just be the extra 10 watts of output. They are going back and don't waste your money on these.

So the question is, has anyone had good success finding halogen bulbs that are close to the look of the xd 4300k's?

Thanks,

Rob

Rob,

I put the same kit in our GX. I was originally going to upgrade the other bulbs too, but I left them stock. Yes, the do look yellow compared to the HIDs, but it just make the HIDs look so much better.

I've got the factory HIDs on my RX and I put Silverstars in the foglights. They are a bit whiter, but they'll never be as white as the HIDs. I figured this time around on the GX, I'd just save my money.

The best bulbs I have found so far to match HIDs are Hoen xenonmatch. They are much whitter than factory bulbs.

OK - I am finally happy, after going with XD 4300k's I decided I wanted whiter other lights, so I ended up ordering a set of Eurolight Super Plasma XB's - supposed to look like HID. Put them in and they where positively yellow - just to prove I was not nuts, I put the originals in one side and these in the other - absolute junk - I could not tell them from factory cheaper yellow bulbs - I could not beleive it!

I took them back and took the advice on the hoen xenonmatch bulbs - put them in and I am totally happy - they are not as crisp white as the HID's, but they are very white and way whiter than stock and look very good with the HID's, so take the advice and buy these if you want something close. I did 55W H3's for the fogs. 65W 9005's for highs and put W3W (194)'s in the the running light - everything is a nice match.

Now all you have have to do is change all the bulbs on the running board, dome lights and entry lights on the doors to LEDs.

It never ends.

I am glad to hear the Hoens work out good for you.

I have noticed there is longer 194s on ebay with 25+ smds. Is there enough room in the running boards/courtesy lights/parking lights to fit them..?anyone?
