Default Question for GX with 22" wheel

Is there anyone out there who have 22" wheel on there GX that can tell me if the front rub the lower front plastic fender well when you turn the stering wheel all the way, either side.

I just bought Zinik Z-12 22x9.5 with 275/45/22 Pirelli scropion zero, recommend size by the Tirerack. They told me it wouldn't be any problem.

Also, if any one notice when you first got the wheel is it normal for the stering wheel to shake at 55-65mph. It come and go. I though the new tire have to be broken in before it smooth out.

Help a fellow GX out will you, this is the first time I own 22 on any of my ride.

Yes it did rub but only when you turn the wheel all the way. I had my 22" for about 6months and no problems (love them) if you want this to stop get in the bottom of the truck where is rubbing make a little hole and put a wire tie to pull on the mud guard. If was you I'll leave alone. Second dude this size tire is way to big for this 275/45/22 . You should it got this size 305/40ZR/22 https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=179139.
Ok for this one is a little tricky cause you going to find the right shop that has this machine http://www.gsp9700.com/pub/technical/4127T/4127t.cfm must of the Toyota dealers has them thats where I got my fix. Ihave the same problem at 55 and 65 mph but trust me dude this machine does the job not like the other machines these other shops got they only balance the rim and not the tires. Hope these helps and good luck.

angelslex ,

So any Toyota dealer can balance any 22inch wheel? Most of the dealership around here won't even touch anything aftermarket stuff. They will make up some dumbass excuse not to do it or tell you straight out they won't do it.

the 275/45/22 was recommended by the TireRack. They told me the 305/40 is a little shorter, like .13" smaller but 30mm wider than the 275 which will rub. That why I bought it.

I think they just trying to make money off of me cause the 275 cost $50 each more than the 305

I like your taillight, where did you get it?

thanks

No they won't have to. unless you have a bad tire. Just go to that website I gave you before and locate the nearest shop. I got the lights at a Toyota dealer in Central America.

I think Zinik wheels can accodmated 305/40/22 with +15 offset.... my rim shop put the rims without tires and it seems to have room behind the end of the lip and the front strut or shock tower.... seems to have a good inch space i belive... i asked him to mount the tires but i guess that was too much work for them without getting a sale out of me... at the end... i didnt end up doing it cuz i didnt know if it was possible.. but the shop guy said it is possible... i really want the 305 tires...

I had the 305s....but it still left too much gap between the fender and tire...looked like crap in my opinion...so on went the 24s

IAS,

DO you have picture of your GX with 24"? I want to see what it look like. Even though it about 2 inch bigger in diameter does it affect the speedometer??

thanks
