2005 vs 2004
I am going to buy a GX. I have a chance to buy a 2004. I was kind of set on a 2005 but the price difference is about 4000. What are the major difference between the 04 and 05. The 04 has nav and rear dvd. Thanks.
One more thing. The 04 has a very dark grey interior (not the sports package). I have not seen this before, all the grey I have seen has been a light grey. Anyone know if this was an 04 think.

yes, there are some changes in 04' and 05' but the main different is the engine, 05 has 270hp and the 04 only has 235hp. you can go to lexus.com and look under certified pre-owned -model library to find everything about each year model.. good luck.

Otherwise no exterior body difference.
My parent bought an '05 after they borrowed my '04 for a week while they were visiting. I have driven their car pretty extensively and the only "noticeable" difference to me was the Navigation System is the 4th generation versus the 3rd Generation. Both are good but there are additional options with the new system. Engine power differences were completely unnoticeable to me, but the '05's do have an additional 35 hp.....Can't figure out why I couldn't feel it but I couldn't????
If you're not getting Nav, I would consider the '04. With Nav probably the '05 would be my choice. Also I would think that the $4k difference would be given back to you when you got rid of it simply by having a car that's a year newer, ie worth more on trade/sale.
Good luck...Quit counting your pennies and just buy one you won't be disappointed.
